Evaporative hydrocarbon emissions filter |
abstract |
An evaporative emission filter for an engine intake system is provided. The evaporative emission filter includes a hydrocarbon vapor absorbing member disposed inside the intake system. A mechanism is provided for mounting the evaporative emission filter inside the intake system. Hydrocarbon vapor present in the intake system after engine shutdown is substantially retained in the absorbent member until air flows through the air supply system after engine startup. |
