Preparing coated diamond particles comprising coating the diamond particles as nickel and regenerating the diamond particles coated as nickel / boron (Ni / B) in the presence of a reducing agent having a pH in the range of approximately 6 to 10. Providing a step, wherein the Ni / B coating comprises a boron content of approximately 5 wt-% or less. Coated diamond particles are used in abrasive tool / cutting elements such as abrasive wheels, saw segments, drill bits and the like. |
