abstract |
The present invention relates to abrasive flocculated fibers that can be used in meltblown disposable cleaning products and abrasive products for use in household cleaning or personal hygiene applications. Meltblown webs are formed predominantly of irregular or random distribution of polymer fibers typical of fibers deposited in a meltblown process to form a porous open structure. Agglomerated fibers of the present invention are generally formed of two or more separate abrasive polymeric fibers or strands that are joined together along a fiber length of at least about 5 mm. The diameter of the abrasive fibers of the meltblown web generally exceeds about 15 microns. |
