abstract The present invention relates to the genus Oscillatoria sp. W-109 having antibiotic activity. More specifically, the present invention relates to cyanobacteria oscillatoria W-109 [KCTC 10592BP] from natural waters. It was found that the extract of the culture of the bacterium had an antibiotic activity against various pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella typhimurium , and is useful as an antibiotic for inhibiting the growth of pathogenic bacteria. 109 [KCTC 10592BP] and its use.
