titleOfInvention Method for aligning ferroelectric liquid crystal and method for manufacturing liquid crystal display device using the same
abstract Disclosed is a ferroelectric liquid crystal alignment method for aligning a ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) using ultraviolet irradiation. The ferroelectric liquid crystal alignment method includes a plurality of liquid crystal molecules, each liquid crystal molecule is a ferroelectric liquid crystal comprising a first group and the second to fourth groups arranged in the form of the tetrahedral and the axis of the first group and the first group In the method of orienting the light by the optical alignment method, in forming a photoalignment film on the substrate as an alignment film and irradiating polarized ultraviolet rays, the plane of incidence of the irradiation light and the first group are not orthogonal to each other so as to be perpendicular to each other. It is characterized by imparting selectivity to one axis of the second to fourth groups. Therefore, according to the present invention, by aligning the CDR-FLC and using the liquid crystal display device, there is an effect of improving the screen contrast ratio and screen uniformity.
