Corresponding C 3 comprising a multi-stage reaction system in which not only the oxidation product is separated in one or more intermediate effluent streams, but also all of the steps of supplying additional oxygen to the reaction zone following the first reaction zone are used. An improved process for preparing unsaturated carboxylic acids and unsaturated nitriles from -C 5 alkanes or mixtures of C 3 -C 5 alkanes and alkenes is provided. |
