The present invention relates to a composition for the treatment and prevention of diabetes mellitus containing Cordyceps militaris low alcohol soluble fraction as an active ingredient, the present invention is a blood soluble fraction of STK-induced diabetic mice It is thought to be due to the effect of inhibiting excessive proliferation of T-cells and B-cells, which are immune cells of the spleen, and ultimately preventing the destruction of beta cells (β-cells) of the pancreas. The fraction is also thought to inhibit apoptosis of pancreatic beta cells by nitric oxide by inhibiting nitric oxide production of macrophages derived from the abdominal cavity of mice. Therefore, the composition containing the same can be used as a medicine and health functional food for the treatment and prevention of diabetes. |
