The present invention provides a glossy pigment comprising (a) at least one coating comprising (a1) a core substantially composed of a transparent or metallic reflective material and (a2) at least one silicon oxide having an average molar ratio of oxygen to silicon of 0.03 to 0.95. 0.0001 to 90% by weight and (b) 10 to 99.9999% by weight of suitable carrier material (for cosmetic use), based on the total weight of the cosmetic preparation or formulation. |
