titleOfInvention Electronemitting device manufacturing method, electron source manufacturing method, imageforming apparatus manufacturing method, and information displaying and playing apparatus manufacturing method
abstract An electron emitting device using carbon fiber as an electronic member is provided. The carbon fibers shorted between the cathode electrode and the control electrode are removed to obtain an electron emitting device having uniform electron emission characteristics. A first electrode and a second electrode having a plurality of fibers each containing carbon are prepared. Next, while the potential of the first electrode is higher than the potential of the second electrode, a voltage is applied between the first electrode and the second electrode, and the carbon fiber short-circuited by the first electrode and the second electrode is removed.
