titleOfInvention Plasma display panel and driving method thereof
abstract The present invention relates to a method of driving a plasma display panel containing high xenon. One frame includes a plurality of subfields, each of which subtracts wall charges formed by a previous sustain discharge in a plurality of discharge cells formed by the adjacent first, second and third electrodes. A reset period, an address period for forming a charge in a discharge cell to be selected among the plurality of discharge cells, and a sustain period for discharging the selected discharge cell, and having a period of rest after a sustain period of the previous subfield. A reset voltage is then applied to the first electrode at a voltage lower than twice the sustain voltage of the current subfield. Then, only the cells in which sustain discharge has occurred in the sustain period discharge sustain, and the reset function is performed. By doing so, since the reset can be performed at a low voltage, the cost of the reset switch and the like can be reduced and a stable reset can be realized.
