abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for processing or shaping a metal consisting of using an aqueous lubricant containing methanesulfonic acid or a water-soluble methanesulfonic acid salt as a water-soluble extreme pressure additive. The water soluble methanesulfonic acid salts are alkali or alkaline earth metal, ammonium, alkanolamine or ethoxylated fatty amine salts. The aqueous lubricant of the present invention has good extreme pressure properties and good corrosion related properties. |
