abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of each of four individual diastereomers of formula (I) in stereochemically pure form from a single enantiomerically pure precursor. Tetracyclic ring systems having cis-fused 5 and 7 membered rings are formed in base-catalyzed cyclization reactions. The present invention also relates to cis-fused tetracyclic alcohol intermediates and methaneamine end products so obtained and to methaneamine end products for use in medicine, in particular CNS active medicine. |
