abstract | The present invention is directed to exposure to free radicals comprising an organoboraneamine complex in the first part and an isocyanate capable of decomposing the organoborane complex in the second part, wherein the ratio of amine nitrogen atoms to boron atoms is greater than 4.0: 1.0 Two-part compositions useful for initiating cure of one or more polymerizable monomers that are then cured. In another embodiment, the invention provides a first part, a) an organoborane amine complex; Part 2, b) at least one monomer, oligomer or polymer having olefinic unsaturation capable of polymerization by free radical polymerization; c) an effective amount of a compound that dissociates the complex to release the borane to initiate the polymerization of one or more monomers, oligomers or polymers having olefinic unsaturation and remain separate from the complex until initiation of the polymerization is desired. ; And d) a material that can be located in the first, second, or both portions to maintain the heat of the polymerization reaction such that adhesion to the substrate is maintained. |
