titleOfInvention Vacuum ultraviolet-excited ultraviolet phosphor and light-emitting device that uses this phosphor
abstract The vacuum ultraviolet light excitation phosphor is gadolinium-activated rare earth aluminum represented by the general formula (Y 1- x Gd x ) Al 3- y Sc y (BO 3 ) 4 (where 0 <x ≦ 1,0 <y ≦ 3 ). It consists of a phosphor layer provided with a vacuum ultraviolet light excitation phosphor containing scandium borate. When the vacuum ultraviolet light having a wavelength of 200 nm or less is emitted from the vacuum ultraviolet light excitation phosphor, ultraviolet rays having a wavelength in the range of 312 nm to 315 nm can be generated as high efficiency and strong emission intensity. Higher area intensity ratios can be obtained.
