An integrated postamplifier and laser driver assembly 302A (FIG. 1) is provided that includes a digital control interface 200 (FIG. 1) coupled with an external digital IC controller having a 12C bus configured to receive a signal parameter programming input from a user. . PA / LD 100 (FIG. 1) includes one or more DACs 104n (FIG. 1) that are connected to a digital control interface via a glue logic module. Within the PA / LD, a memory is provided that includes an algorithm that is coupled to the DAC via a glue logic module and facilitates the implementation of changing signal parameters of one or more signals via the DAC. Signal parameter program instructions are received at the PA / LD from the user via a 12C bus and / or from an internal coded algorithm and used by the DAC to facilitate the implementation of a change to the signal parameters of one or more signals. |
