A prodrug which has a substituent in which a substituent is cleaved by the enzyme using an enzyme having a difference in activity between a target site of the drug and a site in which side effects are expressed, and is activated by cleavage of the substituent. The target site of the drug may be, for example, the respiratory tract, and the site of side effect expression, for example, the heart. Examples of drugs include bronchodilators, and examples of enzymes include glycosidase (e.g., β-glucuronidase). Moreover, a substituent is a glycosyl group which consists of monosaccharides or oligosaccharides, for example. By using the enzyme, the target site that produces the effect and the site that expresses the side effect can reduce side effects of other types of drugs. |
