titleOfInvention | Improved kavalactone profile |
abstract | The process for producing the processed carba of the present invention involves the predominant extraction of different carbaractones at different rates from the source material using an extractant, for example liquid CO 2 . Processing with a carbaractone distribution profile that can be substantially different from the source material by adjusting the extraction parameters and by stopping the extraction before the entire amount of carbaractone is extracted or by predominantly precipitating the extracted carbaractone in one or more collection environments Cava products can be prepared. As a result, roots from less preferred carba varieties can be used to produce processed carba products having a carbalactone distribution profile similar to that of highly desirable. Also disclosed are materials having preferred carbaractone distribution profiles. Such carba paste can be further processed to produce dry flowable powders suitable for use, for example, in tableting formulations. Also disclosed herein are fast dissolving tablet formulations for use in the dispensing of carbaractone. |
