titleOfInvention | Multiple layer insulating sleeve |
abstract | The present invention relates to multilayer sleeves for insulating or protecting extension substrates. The sleeves are continuously knitted into other sections completely joined end to end, which sections are formed of other fibrous members selected for proper characteristics. The sleeves are formed in a multilayer configuration by folding the sleeves back inward to coaxially place one section within the other sleeve. Sleeve ends can be finished with the welts to prevent loosening and can be used as clinches on elongated substrates. Rib knits are used to form insulated air pockets in the longitudinal direction along the sleeves to increase insulation efficiency. |
