titleOfInvention Glass frit and method for sealing glass surfaces together
abstract The present invention relates to a glass frit suitable for sealing a glass surface, wherein the glass frit comprises lead oxide. The glass frit further comprises an oxidant selected from the group of higher valence oxides including manganate (VII), manganate (VI) and ferrate (VI). In addition, the present invention describes a sealing glass paste containing at least such glass frit and a colorant. Also described is a method of sealing two glass surfaces. The method includes providing at least a first glass surface and a second glass surface, applying an amount of the sealing glass paste on at least one of the surfaces, and a glass surface with the sealing glass paste interposed therebetween. To face each other, applying the assembly of the glass surface and the sealing paste to a temperature sufficient to melt the sealing glass paste on both glass sides, sealing the two surfaces, and cooling the sealing assembly thus produced. It includes.
