titleOfInvention Hcms carbon structure, electrocatalysts for fuel cell supported by hcms carbon structure, and their preparation method
abstract The present invention relates to a hollow core having a mesoporous outer shell (HCMS) exhibiting high activity against oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions of fuels such as methanol, ethanol or hydrogen in a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell. The present invention relates to a catalyst using a carbon capsule structure having a mesoporous shell structure as a carrier, and a method for producing the same.n n n The porous carbon support used as a carrier for the catalyst of the present invention has the advantage of being able to produce a supported catalyst using a smaller amount than the conventional carbon black because it has excellent electrical conductivity and has a large surface area and a large pore volume. It is possible to increase the catalytic activity for the oxidation reaction of fuels such as alcohol and hydrogen by increasing the active area in which the catalytic reaction can occur by uniformly dispersed in the support in a very small size in the 2-3nm range. In addition, the uniformly sized mesopores of the porous carbon support secure the diffusion passage of the fuel and the reaction product to facilitate the movement and diffusion of the fuel and the reaction product to efficiently perform the oxidation and reduction reactions. In the air electrode, the same principle plays an effective catalyst role.
