The present invention relates to sintered powders, laser sintering methods and also molded articles made from such metal salts of weak acids, in particular polyamides which also comprise metal carbonates and fatty acid derivatives, in particular fatty acid esters or fatty acid amides.n n n Molded articles formed using the powders of the present invention have significant advantages in appearance and surface finish when compared to conventional products, especially when considering recyclability in selective laser sintering (SLS) processes.n n n Molded articles made from recycled sintered powders of the present invention also have significantly improved mechanical properties, especially in terms of elastic modulus and tensile strain at break, when compared to molded articles based on recycled conventional nylon-12 powder. These molded articles also have a density close to that of the injection molded articles. |
