titleOfInvention Electrochemiluminescence flow cell and flow cell components
abstract The present invention relates to an electrochemiluminescent cell comprising an electrode capable of inducing an electrochemiluminescent active species to electrochemiluminate. This electrode preferably consists of an alloy of platinum, rhodium or iridium alloyed with an alloying material comprising rhodium, iridium or a transition element. The electrodes can be used as counter electrodes and / or working electrodes in electrochemiluminescent cells. This cell preferably comprises a counter electrode and a support attached to the counter electrode. The support includes a transparent portion in optical mating with the working electrode. The counter electrode may include one or more field extension members inserted between the transparent portion and the working electrode. This field extension member is preferably ladder or lattice.
