abstract |
The present invention provides a novel interpolymer optical alignment layer that induces alignment of the liquid crystal medium. The interpolymers of the present invention may comprise at least one macromonomer or polymer in the polyimide, polyamic acid and esters thereof, and at least one from the group consisting of additional monomers, monomers and additive polymers covalently bonded to the first component to form a copolymer. Includes additional ingredients. The present invention further describes a liquid crystal display comprising the novel branched interpolymer optical alignment layer. |
