abstract | The drug delivery device may be formed in whole or in part by co-injection of the drug center and the outer tube. The outer tube is permeable, semi-permeable or impermeable to the drug. The drug center consists of a polymer matrix that does not significantly affect the release rate of the drug. The outer tube, drug centric polymeric matrix, or both can be biodegradable. The co-injected product can be divided into drug delivery devices. The device can be left uncoated so that each end is open, or can be coated with a layer that is permeable or semi-permeable or biodegradable to the drug, for example. |
