Silicone dispersions |
abstract |
The silicone composition of the present invention comprises a continuous phase of a polar organic solvent in which particles of the silicone antifoaming agent are tightly enclosed and enclosed by an encapsulant. The encapsulant is solid at 25 ° C. and insoluble in the polar organic solvent at 25 ° C. but substantially dissolved in the polar organic solvent in the elevated temperature range of 40-100 ° C. The encapsulated silicone antifoaming agent (i) disperses the polyorganosiloxane solution, the solid organic material and the hydrophobic silica material in a polar organic solvent, with an average silicon particle size of less than 0.5 mm, the temperature of the prepared dispersion is the organic material Dispersed sufficiently under shear to be sufficiently high to dissolve in this composition; And (ii) cooling the dispersion to precipitate the organic material on the surface of the silicon particles with sufficient stirring to maintain the silicon particle size below 0.5 mm. |
