titleOfInvention | Method of preparing polyestercarbonates |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyestercarbonates wherein a mixture of at least one activated diaryl carbonate is reacted with at least one dihydroxy aromatic compound with at least one dicarboxylic acid under melt polymerization conditions. Polyestercarbonates containing up to about 10 mol% dicarboxylic acid residues are obtained, based on the total amount of structural units derived from aromatic dihydroxy compounds. The present method of preparation provides both high levels of dicarboxylic acid incorporation into the polyestercarbonate backbone and high levels of polymer endcapping. |
