abstract The present invention relates to low molecular flavonoids having an inhibitory ability of acetylcholinesterase and neuroprotective neurons contained in brain cells closely related to degenerative dementia isolated from methanol extract of Mugwort and its purification method. Acetylcholinesterase-inhibiting flavonoids of the present invention can be prepared from methanol extracts of Mugwort by performing a series of purification processes such as organic solvent fractions, sequential silica gel chromography, TLC (thin layer chromatography), etc. Pure separation. The AChE inhibitory substance prepared in this way is a low-molecular flavone component, which not only inhibits acetylcholinesterase but also protects in vitro brain neurons, and is a functional agent for improving memory loss caused by dementia patients and aging.
