titleOfInvention | Process and device for forming ceramic coatings on metals and alloys, and coatings produced by this process |
abstract | A method and apparatus for performing plasma electrolyte oxidation of metals and alloys and forming a ceramic coating on the surface thereof at a rate of 2-10 μm / minute is disclosed. The method of the present invention comprises using a particular type of high frequency current pulse having a predetermined frequency range and the generation of acoustic vibrations in the acoustic frequency range in the electrolyte, wherein the frequency ranges of the current pulses and the acoustic vibrations overlap each other. According to the method of the present invention, super-dispersed powder can be introduced into the electrolyte to produce a coating having fixability while assisting in the formation of a stable hydrosol with stable acoustic vibration. According to the method of the present invention, a high density hard microcrystalline ceramic coating having a thickness of 150 μm or less can be produced. The coating is characterized by a reduced intrinsic thickness of the outer porous layer (less than 14% of the total coating thickness) and low roughness of the oxidized surface in the range of Ra 0.6-2.1 μm. |
