Fungal resistant transgenic pepper plants and their production method |
abstract |
Stable pepper transformation was established using Agrobacterium mediated methods. Pepper plants were transformed with the PepEST or PepDef gene and expression of the nucleic acid sequences in the plants showed increased resistance to fungal infection compared to wild type plants. Crops are provided that include seeds produced by the transgenic plant. Also provided are vectors and host cells comprising nucleic acids encoding PepEST and PepDef, respectively. |
