abstract | Microcapsules encapsulating the dispersion system produce an organic dispersion containing a resin neutralizing acid groups, colored particles and an organic solvent; Dispersing this organic dispersion in an aqueous medium to produce a capsule particle in an aqueous medium, the capsule particle comprising a dispersion system in which colored particles are dispersed in an organic solvent, and a wall film encapsulating the dispersion system; This capsule particles are prepared by separating and drying from an aqueous medium. The organic dispersion may include, as an organic solvent, a polar solvent and a hydrophobic organic solvent which dissolve the resin constituting the wall film and are miscible with the aqueous medium. The wall film of the capsule particles can be crosslinked or cured with a crosslinking agent. The microcapsule can be used as an image display element in which colored particles can be electrophoresed in the oil phase by a potential difference. The present invention provides a microcapsule that encapsulates a core material in which colored particles are dispersed in an oil phase and has a uniform particle size without an emulsifier and a dispersant. |
