abstract |
The present invention is to provide a method for producing a microorganism which can substantially reduce an undesired monomer unit and obtain a new polyhydroxyalkanoate in high yield. In a medium containing substituted benzoyl alkanoic acid, a microorganism capable of synthesizing a novel polyhydroxyalkanoate having 3-hydroxy-substituted benzoyl alkanoic acid as a monomer unit using a substituted benzoyl alkanoic acid as a raw material is cultured. After that, the polyhydroxyalkanoate produced in the cultured cells is extracted and recovered. |
