titleOfInvention Process for the purification and/or isolation of biologically active granulocyte colony stimulating factor
abstract The present invention provides an accurate folded biologically inert monomer, oligomeric or polymeric biologically active granular cell affinity chromatography using immobilized metal affinity chromatography from granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) and bound G-CSF molecules. A method for isolating G-CSF, which enables the separation of active monomeric G-CSF molecules. The process of the present invention may optionally be carried out advantageously under natural conditions, if desired. This gives a biologically active G-CSF with a purity greater than 95%. Only two further chromatography steps, namely cation exchange chromatography and gel filtration, are preferably applied to remove trace impurities. The whole method allows for higher yields of G-CSF with greater than 99% purity. The described method is particularly suitable for the industrial production of G-CSF.
