titleOfInvention | Analysis of circulating tumor cells, fragments, and debris |
abstract | The methods and reagents described herein are used to analyze circulating tumor cells, clusters, fragments and debris. The assay is performed on a number of platforms including a flow cytometer and CellSpotterĀ® fluorescence microscopy imaging system. In vivo damage is caused by apoptosis, necrosis or an immune response. In vitro damage occurs when sampling, handling, transporting, processing or analyzing. Thus, it is desirable to limit, reduce, eliminate, or at least qualify, in vitro damage to prevent in vitro damage from interfering with the assay. The methods disclosed herein are for diagnosing, monitoring and screening diseases based on circulating rare cells, including malignancies identified by CTCs, clusters, fragments and debris. The present invention also provides a ket for analyzing a biological sample using this method. |
