The present invention relates to novel microorganisms which can tolerate acetonitrile concentrations of at least 3 M, and to novel processes for the preparation of amides of formula III based on the corresponding nitriles using said microorganisms:n n n [Formula III]n n n R 1 -CONH 2 IIIn n n [Wherein R 1 is a C 1-6 -alkyl radical, a C 2-6 -alkenyl group or a group of formula (IV):n n n [Formula IV]n n n n n n n n (In formula (IV), X is a nitrogen atom or -CH = and substituents R 2 and R 3 are independently of each other a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C 1-6 -alkyl group or a C 2-6 -alkenyl group).n n n The present invention also relates to the use of said microorganism for removing acetonitrile residues. |
