abstract The present invention relates to a novel erythrocyte cytoplasmic phospholipase A 2 enzyme, rPLA 2 , an antibody thereof, and uses and preparations thereof.n n n RPLA 2 of the present invention produces arachidonic acid dependent on calcium ions, has a molecular weight of 42 KDa as measured by SDS-PAGE, has an isoelectric point of pH 3.9 to 4.1 under electrophoresis, and shows the highest activity at pH 9.5 to 10, Specific activity is characterized by 5.6 nmol / min / mg.n n n RPLA 2 antibodies of the invention may specifically bind to rPLA 2 of the present invention, the present invention rPLA 2 inhibitor EA4 (7-chloro-6- [ 4- (diethylamine) phenyl] -5,8-quinoline dione) inhibits the arachidonic acid production activity of rPLA 2 .n n n Therefore, the rPLA 2 and the antibodies and inhibitors thereof of the present invention can be usefully used in the field of research of physiological phenomena involving red blood cells and in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases related to rPLA 2 .
