abstract | The present invention provides a screening method capable of more accurately measuring pre-diabetic status and processing a plurality of test samples without physically burdening the patient, and diagnostic reagents used therein.n n n In bodily fluids collected from a subject, patients in pre-diabetic state can be detected by measuring D-mannose concentrations, preferably D-mannose concentrations and glucose concentrations, and comparing them with respective reference values. In addition, the measurement of the mannose concentration is performed by quantifying the reduced substance formed on the electron acceptor so that an enzyme having an oxidative capacity due to dehydrogenation reacts with mannose in the sample in the presence of the electron acceptor. |
