The present invention relates to a method for enhancing the production of α-tocopherol in a plant, and more particularly, by transforming the plant using a γ-tocopherol methyltransferase (γ-TMT) gene. To enhance the production of α-tocopherol. The method according to the present invention has the advantage of producing and developing nutritionally excellent plants by increasing the content of α-tocopherol in plants, and thus may be usefully used in plant seed industry. |
