abstract | The present invention generally relates to pyrimidine and triazine ultraviolet absorbers containing phenolic and nonphenolic aromatic groups, and to environmental forces including ultraviolet rays, actinic rays, oxidation, moisture, air pollutants and combinations thereof. A new class of pyrimidines and triazines are 2 (1) biphenol aromatic groups with orthoin hydrocarbyl groups relative to each other and 1 (2) resorcinol or substituted les attached to the triazine or pyrimidine ring Contains sosinol groups.
