titleOfInvention Phased array antenna using gain switched multimode Fabry-Perot laser diode and highly dispersive fiber
abstract The present invention relates to a phased array antenna using gain-switched multimode FP-LD and high dispersion fiber. In particular, in a phased array antenna using optical control, the present invention relates to a technology for enabling a small-scale low-cost system while continuously enabling a time delay for causing a phase difference of each antenna.n n n According to the present invention, there is provided a multimode FP-LD for generating optical pulses by gain switching; A highly dispersed optical fiber passing through the generated light output pulse and separating each mode of the multi-mode FP-LD to generate a microwave signal; An optical splitter for dividing the mode-separated optical pulse strings by the number of arrays to send them to the antenna array; A time delay line for passing the distributed optical pulses through non-dispersion optical fibers having different lengths so as to have a phase difference through different time delays; A photodetector for photoelectrically converting optical pulses having the phase difference; An optical amplifier for amplifying the photoelectrically converted optical pulses; A phased array antenna is provided that includes an antenna array for delivering the amplified optical pulses.
