A new specific mechanism for inhibiting platelet adhesion to collagen |
abstract |
The present invention relates to the use of polypeptide saratin for the manufacture of a medicament having the ability to significantly reduce platelet adhesion and platelet accumulation after vascular injury or endometrial ablation. The present invention also relates to novel medical uses of saratin as thrombosis and vascular endothelium proliferation inhibitors, wherein the polypeptides can be used locally as a topical agent or as a coating on a medical device, or can be combined or associated with a medical device. |
