The present invention relates to a mutant bank of diploid microorganisms consisting of a population of mutant cells comprising at least one cell having a random mutation that inhibits at least one gene activity, the microorganism may be induced in haploid form. More specifically, the present invention relates to methods of using mutant banks to identify genes that contribute to a selected phenotype. |
