abstract The present invention relates to a novel adapter protein LAST (Lck-Associated Signal Transducer) and its genes that bind to Src-type tyrosine kinase, and more particularly, is phosphorylated by Src-type tyrosine kinase and the Src- A novel adapter protein LAST having a amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 that binds to the SH2 domain of type tyrosine kinase and genes thereof. LAST of the present invention mediates the signal transduction of Src-type tyrosine kinases and also acts to induce IL-2 gene expression and to promote AP-1 or NF-κB dependent transcriptional activity.
