abstract The present invention provides test strips and test methods for use in determining the concentration of one or more target analytes in a physiological sample. The test strip includes a number of skin penetrating elements secured thereto. In this method, a number of skin penetrating elements secured to the test strip are inserted into the skin, the physiological sample is transferred to the test strip and the concentration of the analyte is measured. The test strips and test methods can be used for several different applications, in particular for the determination of the concentration of glucose.
