The present invention relates to a stabilized copper-silica catalyst and a method for preparing the same, which can be usefully used for the reduction of carbonyl group-containing organic compounds or the dehydrogenation of cycloalcohols. After preparing a copper slurry solution, a colloidal silica solution was added thereto and stirred to prepare a copper hydroxide-silica slurry solution, which was then aged, separated, washed, dried and calcined to obtain nano-sized copper oxide precursor particles. By stabilizing with, a thermally stable and highly active catalyst can be prepared. In the catalyst of the present invention, the reduction reaction of the compound containing carbonyl group and the dehydrogenation of cycloalcohol can be stably performed in a long term with high selectivity and high yield under mild reaction conditions. |
