abstract |
A single absorbent core having a basis weight of at least about 75 gsm per square meter is disclosed, comprising a fibrous absorbent layer having an upper fluid receiving surface and a lower surface with a hydrophobic vapor permeable moisture barrier integrated with the lower surface of the absorbent layer. Preparing a fibrous absorbent layer having an upper and a lower surface, and applying (b) a hydrophobic material covering at least a portion of the fibers of the lower surface of the absorbent layer to the lower surface of the fibrous absorbent layer. Also disclosed is a method of making a core. |
