The present invention relates to a feed additive composition for animals containing a polyethoxylated ascorbic acid derivative of the formula (1) as an active ingredient:n n n [Formula 1]n n n n n n n n Wheren n n R is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms,n n n n is an integer of 2 to 400.n n n When used in combination with feed additives for livestock or fish, the concentration of ascorbic acid in the blood is not only kept constant, but also high in tissues. Therefore, useful effects such as reduction of mortality and blue rate by heat stress can be obtained in poultry. |
