Method for making insulin precursors and insulin precursor analogues having improved fermentation yield in yeast |
abstract |
Novel insulin precursors and insulin precursor analogs are provided which comprise linking peptides (mini C-peptides) having up to 15 amino acid residues and which comprise at least one Gly. This precursor can be converted to human insulin or human insulin analogues. This precursor will typically have a distance between B27 (atomic CG2) and A1 (atomic CA) of less than 5 μs. |
