Polycarbonate diol having high primary terminal oh ratio |
abstract |
Polycarbonate diols having diol monomer units and carbonate monomer units are described wherein the amount of at least one diol monomer unit selected from the group consisting of 1,5-pentanediol units and 1,6-hexanediol units is determined by the total amount of the diol monomer units. 50 to 100 mole percent, based on the molar amount, and the ratio of primary hydroxyl groups at all end groups of the polycarbonate diol is within a certain range. Also described are thermoplastic polyurethanes obtained by copolymerizing the aforementioned polycarbonate diols and polyisocyanates. |
