abstract |
Broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) user equipment has a physical layer automatic repeat request mechanism. The user device has a receiver. The receiver has a physical layer receiver for demodulating packets. Each packet has a specific encoding / data modulation. The specific encoding / data modulation uses a BFWA modulation scheme and forward error correction (FEC) coding. A hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) combiner / decoder buffers, decodes and detects packet errors. The acknowledgment transmitter sends an acknowledgment for each packet if each packet has an acceptable error rate. |
