abstract The present invention relates to a carbonaceous material and a lithium secondary battery including the same, wherein the carbonaceous material includes silicon and carbon around graphite particles having a plane spacing d002 of (002) plane of less than 0.337 nm by X-ray wide-angle diffraction. Composite particles containing and having a smaller particle size than the graphite particles are dispersed and covered, and the graphite particles and the composite particles are covered with an amorphous carbon film having a surface spacing d002 of 0.37 nm or more. In the composite particle, a conductive carbon material is disposed around Si fine particles made of crystalline silicon, and the Si fine particles and the conductive carbon material are coated with a hard carbon film or a conductive polymer film.n n n The present invention provides a carbonaceous material having high charge and discharge capacity and at the same time excellent cycle characteristics.
